Theme Explanation:
This year’s theme is “Defending the Faith.” Our theme this year comes from the passage in 1 Peter 3:15 and commands that we “always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.”
In the world, Christianity is not without opponents. In the context of our passage, Peter admits that some may try to persecute us for our faith. Instead of being intimidated or troubled, we are told to be ready to give a defense of why we hope and believe in God and His promises. There are many who may seek to attack us based upon what we believe and what the Bible teaches. Instead of being intimidated or troubled by them, we need to stand ready to defend our faith in God and His word.
