A Letter From the Elders at Lake Forest

To the Church Family at Lake Forest,

God’s great blessings have allowed us to see the beginning of another year. We are thankful for His many blessings and are conscience of His expectations for us. We are excited about the wonderful possibilities that God has in store for us in 2017. This year is sure to present many challenges to us and we are prayerful that each one will be met with a Christ-like attitude and an unwavering commitment to God and His truth.

In 2016 we saw souls who obeyed the gospel or who rededicated their lives to the Lord. We had some who placed their membership with us, while others moved away. We also lost a few who went on to receive their reward from the Savior. Through it all our commitment to God is as strong as it has ever been. We thank each of you for being an important part of God’s kingdom here at Lake Forest. We are excited to see what the year ahead has in store for us!

As you know, each year we seek to set a theme for the year to help us focus on the goals we wish to achieve. We have had some very meaningful and important themes in years past. Once again this year we have selected a new theme. However, we want to remind you that we intend to remember our themes from the past and build upon them. This is important for us if we are to continue to grow. Our theme for this year is “Faithfulness”. The verse we wish to focus on with our theme comes from Revelation 2:10.

Our theme for 2017 is one that is designed to help us all remain faithful to the Lord. Too many times we see Christians who fall away from the church. This is due to several factors. No matter the cause, we do not desire to see anyone lose his or her soul. This year’s theme is meant to help encourage faithfulness in each of us throughout our lives. Revelation 2:10 reads, “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Lessons will be presented the first Sunday of the month that will focus on our theme for 2017.

We as your elders stand always ready to serve and help you in anyway that we can. Please do not hesitate to call upon us.

May God’s blessings be upon us all,
The Elders
